During a twelve year tenure I managed a team of 60 writers, editors, documentation specialists, graphic artists, photo lab and print shop personnel, producing six million pages of printed documentation annually. As Senior Systems Plan Analyst, I was responsible for integrating publishing systems, and implementing automated systems for document production and management.

Position responsibilities included:
  • Plan, evaluate, and implement capital projects including publishing systems, database systems, document management systems, Local Area Networking and Intranet systems. Provide liaison with Finance, Purchasing, Equipment Administration, and Facilities organizations, as well as manage internal and contract technical support organizations' personnel.
  • Develop application software specifications to meet division requirements, supervise and manage coding and testing, develop and provide software training.
  • Integrate systems with those of internal and external clients and team partners, including both domestic and international corporations and organizations, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Manage production of a full range of print and online communication in support of spacecraft programs including Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP), Mars Observer, Telstar, Intelsat, Advanced Communication Technology Satellite (ACTS), Global Geospace Science (GGS), TIROS weather satellites for NASA/NOAA, and Global Positioning System (GPS).

Supervise data input, word processing, typesetting and programming for production of automotive industry electronics and electrical systems troubleshooting and parts manuals. Evaluate, procure, install, and train personnel on document production systems utilizing minicomputers, smart terminals, PC workstations, high-speed printers and laser imagesetters.
